Preventative dentistry

Arrange a dental check-up in Chestfield

With a long combined experience, the team is the right choice for preventative care, from teeth cleaning to dental x-rays. Regular check-ups are the best way to prevent damage and cost further down the line.

  • Dental check-ups for damaged teeth and softening enamel
  • Scale & polish to remove plaque and tartar
  • Dental x-rays for decay and how the teeth meet
  • Oral health advice on keeping the mouth clean

On a first visit we offer a new patient examination, which records the condition of your mouth and registers you with us. X-rays are taken in addition to the new patient fee. If you are in pain, an emergency appointment can get the problem seen promptly.

Children’s dentistry

Chestfield’s safe and friendly children’s dentist

In the last 30 years the practice has helped many children keep their mouths healthy and overcome a fear of the dentist. Patients come from across Whitstable for infant health exams, habit advice such as thumb sucking or diet, repair of cavities or defects, and care for dental injuries such as a knocked-out tooth.

A children’s dentist works with your child from the first tooth through the teenage years. When baby teeth arrive, register them so regular care can start early. That keeps the mouth clean and helps children get used to the surgery.

Dentistry does not need to be expensive for families. NHS dental treatment for children is available until 18, and also for those under 19 in full-time education. Children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Cosmetic dentistry

Get the smile you want

Whether you want white fillings, veneers, teeth whitening or crowns, the practice offers cosmetic dentistry to create natural-looking teeth. The team explains the treatments that can be tailored to you.

Dental veneers

A veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth. It can protect the tooth and improve its appearance.

Crowns & white fillings

Fillings repair damage from decay. A crown is a cap that covers the tooth. The team will advise which option suits you.

Teeth whitening

Whitening can return teeth toward their natural colour, or lighten them further. Whitening is carried out in the surgery.

Dental implants

A longer-term way to replace missing teeth

We offer free implant consultations (not including x-rays or study models). A dental implant with crown is from £1,595. Our dentist has placed over 3,000 implants.

People lose teeth through injury, decay, gum disease or age. Missing teeth may need replacing for appearance and for function. A fixed bridge or a denture is common; implants are chosen because they can last longer, slow bone loss, and leave the neighbouring teeth untouched.

Fitting an implant means placing a titanium screw in the jaw to replace a missing tooth or to support a bridge or denture. Implants can replace one tooth or several.

Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening made simple in Chestfield

We work with WhiteWash Laboratories for gel, strips and whitening that help patients in Chestfield and Whitstable towards a brighter smile. Founded in 2010, WhiteWash Laboratories is an independent supplier known for reliable, more affordable whitening. Whitening products are supplied through a qualified dentist.

Whitening gel

Peroxide-based gel is used under the supervision of a dentist. The formula is chosen to reduce sensitivity and is placed with a custom applicator on whitening trays. Many people see a change within a few days.

Whitening strips

Near-invisible strips carry a peroxide gel and mould to the teeth. Used for about an hour a day for two weeks, they are a straightforward way to lighten the smile.
